AzbarDiscuss is an electronic discussion board for all members who utilize the MyAzbar Web site. You must be logged into your MyAzbar account to access AzbarDiscuss

This discussion board will provide a place for lawyers to communicate with their peers and the Bar. The discussion board works rather like an electronic bulletin board, except there are no thumbtacks. Everything is divided into a hierarchy of Discussions and Posts. A Discussion is basically a single topic, where one person posts a message, someone else tacks on a reply, someone else tacks on a reply to that, and so on.

When you click on the link to AzbarDiscuss from the Community section of the MyAzbar homepage you are automatically logged into the message board with the same login criteria the MyAzbar site uses throughout. You will be automatically identified by your first name and last name in every type of post you make to the message board. This works this way for security reasons, to ensure that only members of your section have access to this message board.

Using the Message Board:

Starting a discussion

  1. Click "General Discussion." This is the folder where all discussions reside at the moment. You should then see this screen:
  2. Click the "New Discussion" link. This will provide you with the opportunity to describe the discussion, and include the opening volley. Note that you can also attach a file to your post. This works exactly the same as attaching a document to an email message.

Posting to an existing discussion

  1. If you are looking at an existing discussion to which you would like to respond, simply click the "reply" link in the top right corner of the discussion box. If you want to send a private message to the poster of whichever note you're viewing, click "send p.m." instead of "reply."
  2. Enter your reply (public or private), noting once again that you can include file attachments. One possible use of this is offering alternative (or updated) versions of attachments provided earlier in the discussion.
